When it comes to fitness the days of a Lycra-clad Mr Motivator are long gone. Now celebs are taking fitness to the nation and helping to make exercise accessible and fun. With a huge range of DVDs on the market celebrities are certainly stealing the top spots. Celebrities such as Jessie Wallace, Natalie Cassidy and the Pussycat Dolls have all helped to launch fitness DVDs high onto the sales charts. More than just a celebrity endorsement, celeb fitness is a more personal and accessible retail tool. The choice and range of celebrity regimes brings a great deal of choice to buyers.
BVA Director General Lavinia Carey said, “This January’s growth in fitness DVDs is undoubtedly down to the huge diversity available in routines, music and presenters.”
TV presenter, and fitness fanatic, Davina McCall maintained her presence in the Top 10 this year with ‘Davina Fit’ (2 Entertain) which sold over 55,000 units earning her a fifth consecutive year in the chart. In total Davina has sold over 830,000 DVDs since 2006 and has inspired thousands to get up and active.
By providing Davina with the fabulous new Fitness 2XU Spring/Summer ‘10 range, including the Fitness Sports Crop in White and Cross Belted Hot Pants in Charcoal / Silver, Fitness 2XU has the perfect audience of exercise lovers.
With celebs taking part in the nationwide campaign to get people moving we can make sure every woman is equipped for success by providing the perfect sportswear for them to push themselves to the max.
