Tunnocks Caramel - A National Treat.

One of my favourite brands has to be Tunnocks Caramel Waffers. Unchanged for what seems like a lifetime, the Caramel comes neatly and tightly wrapped in paper foil and printed with the proud boast of ‘More than 4,000,000 of these biscuits made and sold every week.’ on every bar.

I dread the day this family owned company succumbs to ‘modern ways’ and changes their packaging, I don’t want ‘extra-fresh’ Caramels, as a connoisseur I find the bar at it’s very best a couple of weeks after purchase. It truly is the gold-bullion of snacks.

I owe a lot to the Tunnocks family, my first Maps cover for the single Start Something was inspired by the equally beautiful packaging for the Tunnocks Tea Cake.

What a nutterly bizarre website they have. It looks like it’s been made by cutting up pieces of coloured card and photos, then loosely sticking them with copydex. I keep expecting bits to fall off. I like that though. Just don’t try beating Bazzer’s score of 4.2 trillion on the snowball game

I think it’s all part of the charm if I may be deeply patronising for a moment, and I believe among friend I may.
