Fifa v Pro Evo / Xbox v PS3

Right. Here is a real tough one. Its that time of year when the big two go head to head - Fifa and Pro Evo. Now, I’ve always been a big Pro Evo fan, all the way up to the Xbox 360 launch, which was a terrible port of the PS2 version, so for the last year I’ve been playing Fifa on my Xbox. But will they now have fixed the problems, and will this years next gen Pro Evo be better than Fifa. Its a real dilema.

Fifa has the all new ‘be a pro’ mode, which sounds amazing and adds a whole new dimension to playing a football game (especially the online gameplay), but Pro Evo is supposed to be back with an all new adaptive learning system, which means that the game learns how you play and combats your style.

It gets worse. Once I’ve decided which title, I have to decide which platform. PS3 or Xbox 360. I’d automatically say PS3, but I’ve heard rumours that the frame rate (specifially for Fifa) is much better on the 360 and of course Xbox live is a much better online tool.

Fifa is out this Friday, so I’ll have to make a call soon.

Any help is greatly appreciated….

I’ve played both demos and FIFA is glossier and looks better, plus the Be a Pro mode sounds really good, but it’s frustrating to play. It’s really slow and it just feels clunky.

The satisfying Pro Evo plays really smooth and it much more exciting to play, but the menus and options and stuff just look horrible.

Verdict.
FIFA for a month then trade in for Pro Evo.

Having played Fifa over the years and now having a 3rd Gen console (PS3). I can only say that the game play is absoloutly cracking, however online game play is yet to be improved. There are a few issues of connecting up to other players. Maybe an issue with my BTHomehub or is it the EA Servers???

Interesting…I think online is great. Spanked an Italian last night, only wish I had played it as ranked. Really looking forward to ‘be a pro’ online.
