What is Earth Day and why does it matter?

Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! Today is all about raising awareness around environmental protection. It’s an important day as it inspires action against the various environmental challenges our planet faces, such as the climate crisis, air pollution and deforestation, and highlights the state the planet is currently in.

In fact, climate change has got so bad that we need to cut CO2 emissions almost in half (45%) by the end of the next decade. That’s why since April 1970, Earth Day has become the perfect opportunity to take action and teach each other about the importance of going green, reducing, reusing, recycling and more. So, start making some vital changes and get involved! It’s as simple as:

  • Turning off taps
  • Switching off lights
  • Changing your bulbs
  • Ditching your car
  • Buying a reusable bottle
  • Going meatless
  • Using your voice
  • Donating to climate change causes

At Creation, we’re passionate about Earth Day and actively do what we can to protect our planet. From partnering with companies, like Earth9 and Cleo, a rewards based platform that gives back to the planet, to sponsoring red seaweed farms and offering employees the chance to offset 10 tonnes (the estimated amount for a UK worker) of their carbon footprint, we hope you join us in taking action today and every day in the future.
